About William Gell

Sir William Gell FRS fue un arqueólogo clásico, egiptólogo e ilustrador británico. Publicó ilustraciones topográficas de Troya y la zona circundante en 1804. También publicó ilustraciones de los resultados de excavaciones arqueológicas en Pompeya. Su obra más conocida es Pompeiana; the Topography, Edifices and Ornaments of Pompeii, publicada entre 1817 y 1832.
