Former presidential hopeful Pete Buttigieg is weighing in on what he believes should be Sen. Bernie Sanders’ (I-Vt.) next steps after dropping his bid for the presidency.
The View” co-host Joy Behar asked Buttigieg if Sanders may be holding out and what his opinion is of him doing so.
“I do think it’s going to be important to have absolutely no daylight between all of us who care about defeating this president,” Buttigieg said on Thursday. “So I hope that he will take that step.”

Sanders has received praise after dropping his bid from former Vice President Joe Biden, as IJR previously reported.
Biden credited Sanders for doing more than running a campaign, he said Sanders has “created a movement.”
Buttigieg explained the importance of unifying Sanders supporters.
“What’s important here is not just what Bernie does, but his supporters. … and the message that he can bring to them about the power of coming together,” Buttigieg said.
Additionally, Buttigieg reminded Americans it is about coming together for one goal.
“Not to pretend we agree on everything, but to understand the urgency of the task at hand that is literally life or death for so many Americans,” Buttigieg said. “I think that’s what we’ve got to move toward and I hope that’s the direction things will take.”
Although Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) endorsed Biden, she also had kind words to say about Sanders, as IJR previously reported.
Harris called Sanders “an extraordinary leader.”
Sanders made an appearance on “The Late Show” with Stephen Colbert on Wednesday where he explained what he thinks Biden needs to do in order to beat Trump. He was also asked whether he was going to endorse Biden or not.
“We’re going to be talking to Joe, and we are, and we’re talking to his team of advisers,” Sanders replied
