Former Obama National Security Advisor Susan Rice is “humbled and honored” to reportedly be considered for the role of former Vice President Joe Biden’s running mate, and she would not say no if she was asked to be.

Margaret Hoover, host of PBS’ “Firing Line,” asked Rice if she would say yes if she was asked to serve as Biden’s running mate.

Her answer was simple, “I certainly would say yes.”

Rice acknowledged other potential contenders have given the same answer.

She is committed to making sure Biden wins the election “in any way” she can.

Watch her comments below:

Rice: I certainly would say yes.

Hoover: Wow.

“And it’s not about me, it’s not about my ambitions. I am not campaigning for anything,” Rice said. “But, you know, obviously, if that were the role in which he felt I could best serve, then I’m not going to say no.”

Rice is among several other women who have volunteered to be Biden’s vice president pick including Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams (D), Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.), and Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.).

According to a CBS News poll published on May 4, Democrat voters are in favor of Warren being Biden’s vice president pick, as IJR previously reported.

A total of 71% of Democrat voters believe she should be considered and 36% believe she already the right choice.

Others are not as willing to campaign for the position, including Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D), as IJR previously reported.

Whitmer told Politico in April she is not “running for anything,” and “everyone else should be just busy doing their jobs.”

Former First Lady Michelle Obama came up into the conversation as Biden said he would choose her “in a heartbeat” if she said yes.

Biden added another endorsement to his list recently after Abrams officially threw her support behind him.
