White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany is taking aim at Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser (D) over the recommendations of a task force she created to rename, remove, relocate, or contextualize monuments and buildings in the nation’s capital.

Bowser formed the group DCFACES (District of Columbia Facilities and Commemorative Expressions) to review the legacy of buildings, parks, public spaces, and monuments.

The purpose of the review is to determine whether the individual being represented had personal or policy views that contributed “to the nation’s history of slavery, systemic racism, and other biases.”

On Tuesday, the organization released findings and suggested the federal government rename several public schools, residential buildings and campuses, parks, fields, and playgrounds, and government buildings.

A few of the schools listed in their recommendations include Jefferson Middle School, Woodrow Wilson High School, and Key Elementary School.

Government buildings include Jackson Arts Center, Key Bridge Boathouse, and Brentwood Square Center.

The findings recommended the federal government “remove, relocate, or contextualize” monuments and statues, including the Benjamin Franklin Statue, Washington Monument, George Washington Statue, Andrew Jackson Statue, and the Jefferson Memorial.

McEnany tore into Bowser over the suggestions.

“By publishing a plan that recommends potentially removing the Washington Monument, Christopher Columbus Statue, Andrew Jackson Statue, and Jefferson Memorial—among many other ludicrous recommendations—the radically liberal mayor of Washington, D.C., is repeating the same left-wing narrative used to incite dangerous riots: demolishing our history and destroying our great heritage,” McEnany said in a statement.

She added, “Our Nation’s capital is rightly filled with countless markers, memorials, and statues to honor and respect the men and women who built this country. President Donald J. Trump believes these places should be preserved, not torn down; respected, not hated; and passed on for generations to come.”

McEnany stressed while Trump is in the White House, the organization’s findings will never become a reality.

She said Bowser should be “ashamed” for making the suggestions in the first place.
