White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany is predicting Democrats will retaliate if President Donald Trump attempts to fill the vacant Supreme Court seat.

During her press briefing on Tuesday, a reporter noted Democrats are threatening to add justices to the Supreme Court and asked McEnany if that is a concern.

“It’s, unfortunately, another example of trying to blow up the system, if you don’t get your way. Democrats will blow up the system. They will change the system. They will trample on the Constitution,” McEnany said.

She added, “I would point them to the words of Justice Ginsburg, who called court-packing a bad idea. She called it partisan. She said nine seems to be a good number. I think packing the court was a bad idea when President Franklin Delano Roosevelt tried it, and I’m not in favor of all of that.”

Watch her comments below:

McEnany’s comments come just days after the Supreme Court announced Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s death, as IJR previously reported.

On Monday, Trump said he was considering five women to fill Ginsburg’s seat and will announce his pick on Saturday, as IJR previously reported.

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden slammed Trump for his attempt to fill the seat and urged Republicans not to vote on any nominee ahead of the election.

“To jam this nomination through the Senate is just an exercise of raw political power,” Biden said.

He explained he should nominate the next Supreme Court justice if he is elected president in November.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) claimed Senate Republicans have enough votes to confirm Ginsburg’s replacement.

During his appearance on Fox News on Monday, Graham slammed Democrats for attempting to keep the seat vacant.

“It’s pretty obvious that if they want an outcome, they’ll just destroy anybody’s life to keep the seats open,” Graham said.
