Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) is sending a message to her followers and fellow lawmakers who share her views on policy.

On Instagram Thursday, she discussed the state of COVID-19 relief negotiations as well as stimulus checks.

Ocasio-Cortez fired back at her critics who believe her policy views are radical.

“Shout out to my fellow radicals in the United States who believe crazy things like a full-time job should be enough for you to live and believe in crazy radical things like if you kill someone there shouldn’t be impunity. And also who believe really crazy radical things like you should get a stimulus check without having to bail out a corporation for it,” she said.

Ocasio-Cortez added, “Or that you should get a stimulus check without your employer, you know, if you work for one of these huge conglomerate employers sending you into harm’s way and being completely immune from any accountability for it.”

She explained her views are based on the idea Americans should be able to live in a prosperous society.

“You know, shoutout to my fellow radicals who think that we should live in a humane advanced society and that we shouldn’t be under the thumb of a $7 minimum wage and racist systems. Because, I don’t know, because that just benefits the people who already are in power to be in power. So, you know, shoutout to my radicals,” Ocasio-Cortez said.

Journalist Megyn Kelly suggested Ocasio-Cortez “likes to play the victim a lot,” as IJR previously reported.

“What I notice is, she makes a false claim of victimhood. And you call her out on it. Then she reacts as a victim in response to your latest tweet, like your latest tweet has made her yet another victim. It’s just a never-ending cycle of how mean you are and how victimized she is,” Kelly said Wednesday during an episode of her podcast.

Others have suggested Ocasio-Cortez be given a bigger platform, including former President Barack Obama, as IJR previously reported.

“When she speaks to a broad section of young people who are interested in what she has to say, even if they don’t agree with everything she says,” Obama told Vanity Fair contributor Peter Hamby.

He went on, “You give her a platform, just like there may be some other young Democrats who come from more conservative areas who have a different point of view.”
