Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley does not believe President Donald Trump deserves impeachment.
Fox News’ Laura Ingraham pressed Haley on her previous comments where she reportedly suggested Trump “was badly wrong with his words” regarding the U.S. Capitol riot. She also said, “His actions since Election Day will be judged harshly by history.”
Haley said during Monday evening’s interview, “January 6th was a tough day and honestly the actions the president had since Election Day were not his finest.”
She continued, “It troubles me greatly because I am really proud of the successes of the Trump Administration.”
Haley then added that she does not believe Trump deserves impeachment:
“The actions of the president…post-Election Day were not great. What happened on January 6th was not great. Does he deserve to be impeached? Absolutely not.”

Haley also said that she would “absolutely” vote against impeachment if she were in the Senate, suggesting she does not believe “there is a basis for impeachment.”
She later added, “They beat him up before he got into office. They are beating him up after he leaves office. I mean at some point, I mean give the man a break. I mean, move on.”
Haley previously told Newsmax that impeachment is a “waste of time.”
The House of Representatives voted to impeach Trump for a second time, charging him with “incitement of insurrection,” following the U.S. Capitol riot on Jan. 6 where five people died.
The Senate impeachment trial is expected to begin the week of Feb. 8. President Joe Biden weighed in on Monday, telling CNN that he does not believe there will be enough votes to convict Trump — at least 17 Republican senators have to join Democrats.
