The ladies of “The View” are tearing into Republicans who voted to acquit Former President Donald Trump.
“It was outrageous that he was acquitted… Basically you have a party… that only cares if you salute to the leader and look at how they’re censuring the people who voted to not acquit,” co-host Joy Behar said.
She noted Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) received a letter from his family following his call for Trump’s removal and Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.) is being censured.
“Censured means you’re getting a reprimand. What did they do? A reprimand means you did something wrong,” Behar continued.

She commented on remarks made by Dave Ball, the Washington County, Pennsylvania, Republican Party chair, about Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.).
“We did not send him there to vote his conscience. We did not send him there to do the right thing or whatever he said he was doing. We sent him there to represent us,” he said.
Behar slammed Ball, “Why are you in politics? Why don’t you just become a drug dealer? Why don’t you just start a Ponzi scheme?”
She added, “We don’t need you in politics if you’re not voting your conscience. It’s really the people who are for people who vote their conscience and people who don’t vote their conscience. That’s what the two party system is right now.”
Co-host Sunny Hostin weighed in and said of impeachment, “We knew this was going to happen.”
She continued, “This is the Republican party today. It is the MAGA party. It’s the QAnon party. It’s the Confederate flag, statue-loving party. It is the Trump party.”

“I’m not surprised at the hypocrisy that Mitch McConnell showed,” @Sunny says. “Mitch McConnell… you are the reason why the trial happened after President Trump left because you refused to start the trial while he was in office, you can’t have it both ways.” pic.twitter.com/mYXvtFfZrt

Hostin slammed Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) for his “hypocrisy.”
She added, “You are the reason why the trial happened after President Trump left because you refused to start the trial while he was in office, you can’t have it both ways.”
Meghan McCain responded to Hostin’s arguments about the state of the Republican Party.
“If that’s the truth, then the Democratic Party is the party of socialism and late-term abortion and cancel culture and no responsibility or ramifications for any of your actions and you can burn down cities like Kenosha and there’s no ramifications,” McCain explained.

She continued, “The problem I have is the only way to become a good Republican is to become a Democrat, according to the media.”
