Vice President Kamala Harris says the Biden administration will not be taking it slow when it comes to the “American Jobs Plan.”

While delivering remarks on Monday, Harris explained, “We are delivering real, real relief and the American people are now able to breathe easier and sleep better and we are not done.”

She continued, “The president and I are ready to keep going and we are not going to take it slow and we are not going to take it one step at a time. Nope. We are going to take a giant leap into the future.”

The vice president was speaking at the Guilford Technical Community College in Greensboro, N.C.

Biden is expected to meet with a bipartisan group of lawmakers on Monday to discuss his more than $2 trillion infrastructure package.

Senators who will be attending the meeting include John Hickenlooper (D-Colo.), John Hoeven (R-N.D.), Angus King (I-Maine), Mitt Romney (R-Utah), and Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.).

House Reps. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.), Charlie Crist (D-Fla.), Carlos Giménez (R-Fla.), Kay Granger (R-Texas) and Norma Torres (D-Calif.) will also be in attendance.

In the Oval Office last week, Biden met with eight members of Congress. Republicans indicated little support of the plan afterward.

The plan calls for spending on roads and bridges, addressing climate change, and increasing access to home and community-based care.

It would be paid for by raising the corporate tax rate from 21% to 28%.

The money would be spent over a period of eight years.

Harris recognized pushing the plan through Congress would be difficult, but suggested the administration is up for the challenge.

“The president and I are determined to get this done and like you, like Americans everywhere, we are not afraid of the hard work it will take,” the vice president said.
