Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton says she has no plans to leave the world of politics, suggesting “our democracy is at stake.”

During an interview with ABC News’ “Good Morning America” Monday, Clinton was asked if she has any interest in getting back into the game of politics.

Clinton replied, “I will never be out of the game of politics. I’m not going to be running for anything.”

She continued, “I really feel like our democracy is at stake and there’s many reasons for that, some of them we saw on the screen, with the insurrection, some of them because of the revelations about Facebook that creates a world of disinformation instead of one that we can agree on what the facts are.”

Clinton claimed she is “worried about what’s happening at home and around the world,” adding, “So, I’m never going to get out of, you know, being involved, worried and hopefully, trying to help in some way.”

The 2016 Democratic presidential nominee’s interview comes one day before the release of her new political thriller, “State of Terror.”

She co-wrote the book with Louise Penny, an international award winning and bestselling author. According to the book description, the story follows the swearing in of a new administration and “to everyone’s surprise the president chooses a political enemy for the vital position of secretary of state.”

It continues, “What begins as a series of apparent terrorist attacks is revealed to be the beginning of an international chess game involving the volatile and Byzantine politics of Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iran; the race to develop nuclear weapons in the region; the Russian mob; a burgeoning rogue terrorist organization; and an American government set back on its heels in the international arena.”

In the book, Secretary Adams and her team then come to realize the threat “has been carefully planned to take advantage of four years of an American government out of touch with international affairs, out of practice with diplomacy, and out of power in the places where it counts the most.”

Clinton told “CBS Sunday Morning” the book started “out of a conversation” she had with Penny.

Penny said, “I asked, ‘What’s your nightmare?'”

Clinton claimed it is “a wake-up call for anybody who cares about America, the world.”
