President Joe Biden is firing back at Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) for suggesting that he is “incapacitated.”
While fielding questions at the White House on Tuesday, the president was asked about Scott’s statement calling him “incapable of leading” and suggesting that he resign.
A reporter brought up the part in Scott’s statement in which he said, “The most effective thing Joe Biden can do to solve the inflation crisis he created is resign.”
“Resign? That’s a good idea,” Biden quipped.
Biden grinned as the reporter read Scott’s claim that he is confused and incapacitated.
“I think the man has a problem,” Biden said.

Scott responded to a portion of Biden’s comments where he appeared to confuse which state the senator represented.
“The president just said I’m from Wisconsin… [Biden] is so incapacitated and incoherent, he can’t even keep his states straight,” he wrote on Twitter.
Biden also ripped into Scott’s 11-point plan he laid out for Republicans if they regain control of Congress during remarks about inflation on Tuesday.
He accused Republicans of wanting to address inflation by “raising your taxes and lowering your income.”

In a statement ahead of Biden’s speech, Scott said, “It’s simple. The most effective thing Joe Biden can do to solve the inflation crisis he created is resign. He’s the problem. Getting him out of office is a quick and easy solution.”
“Let’s be honest here. Joe Biden is unwell. He’s unfit for office. He’s incoherent, incapacitated and confused. He doesn’t know where he is half the time. He’s incapable of leading and he’s incapable of carrying out his duties. Period,” he continued.”
Finally, the Florida senator added, “Everyone knows it. No one is willing to say it. But we have to, for the sake of the country. Joe Biden can’t do the job.”
Last week, he also criticized Scott’s plan, saying, “Senator Rick Scott of Florida…released what he calls ‘the ultra MAGA agenda.”
He added, “It’s a MAGA agenda, alright. Let me tell you about this ‘ultra MAGA agenda.’ It’s extreme, as most MAGA things are.”
