Billionaire Elon Musk called out Twitter over the platform’s response to a complaint made by the account Libs of TikTok.

The Libs of TikTok account tweeted, “I have now received about a dozen death threats after radical leftists accused me of being a domestic terrorist extremist. Twitter has not removed any of the accounts of those who sent the threats.”

Musk replied, “Why? [Twitter]?”

A Twitter user responded to Musk, saying, “On a just platform, everyone would be treated equally. As it is, you can be banned for merely criticizing (not even threatening) woke progressives, but they can send conservatives death threats without any repercussions.”

Musk explained, “A platform cannot be considered inclusive or fair if it is biased against half the country.”

Washington Post reporter Taylor Lorenz, who previously sparked backlash over her reporting on the account, responded to Musk’s tweet.

She wrote, “Of course.”

CNN reported Tuesday that Musk is expected to answer questions from Twitter employees later this week for the first time since agreeing to purchase the company.

A Twitter spokesperson confirmed to the outlet Musk will take pre-submitted employee questions at a virtual meeting.

Last week, the Tesla CEO threatened to walk away from the deal with the company, as IJR reported.

An attorney representing Musk wrote a letter to Twitter’s head of legal, policy and trust, Vijaya Gadde, accusing the company of “actively resisting and thwarting his information rights.”

The letter argued, “This is a clear material breach of Twitter’s obligations under the merger agreement and Mr. Musk reserves all rights resulting therefrom, including his right not to consummate the transaction and his right to terminate the merger agreement.”

It went on to claim Twitter has “refused to provide the information that Mr. Musk has repeatedly requested since May 9, 2022 to facilitate his evaluation of spam and fake accounts on the company’s platform.”

The letter then stressed Musk is “clearly entitled to the requested data to enable him to prepare for transitioning Twitter’s business to his ownership and to facilitate his transaction financing.”
