“Squad” member Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) removed her tweet about the 9/11 terror attacks after receiving backlash.

On Sunday, the 21st anniversary of the attacks, Jayapal tweeted, “Today we remember the 2,996 people who were killed on 9/11 and all those who lost their lives while serving our country in the forever wars that followed.”

Her tweet sparked backlash from other Twitter users after they pointed out that she appeared to include the hijackers in the death toll.

“She did in 2021 and again in 2022,” one user tweeted.

Never forget that Pramila Jayapal included terrorists in the 9/11 death toll. She did in 2021 and again in 2022. https://t.co/uonAv1jZJI pic.twitter.com/JsrgxXTylx

Another reacted to her tweet, saying, “Why on EARTH is Pramila Jayapal including the 19 radical Islamic terrorist hijackers in the 9/11 death count?!”

Check out more reactions below:

2,977 Americans were murdered, 19 hijackers committed murder–suicide.

Jayapal thinks those 19 terrorists should be memorialized in the same breath as those they murdered.

For two years in a row, Jayapal has included the 19 terrorists in her list of 9/11 victims

Two years in a row = this wasn’t an error. It was intentional. pic.twitter.com/47ecXX3PFi

Pramila Jayapal another Radical, included the 9/11 hijackers among those who lost their lives on 9/11. Jayapal added an extra 19 to her commemorative death toll in a tribute. Bringing the death toll to 2,996. Yet this creature is in OUR government. It’s unconscionable

Someone like Pramila Jayapal who includes the terrorist from 9/11 in her tribute doesn’t belong in this country much less in our congress. Get rid of Evil Vote Republican in November

Fox News pointed out 2,977 victims were killed in the attacks and Jayapal’s number includes the 19 terrorists that were also killed.

Members of the Biden administration visited the sites of the attacks on Sunday.

Biden delivered remarks from the Pentagon.

“I know for all those of you who lost someone, 21 years is both a lifetime and no time at all,” Biden said.

He added, “It’s good to remember. These memories help us heal. But they can also open up the hurt and take us back to that moment when the grief was so raw.”

Additionally, Biden quoted Queen Elizabeth II, who died last week.

“She poignantly reminded us, ‘Grief is the price we pay for love,'” Biden said.

First lady Jill Biden visited Shanksville, Pennsylvania, where she recalled her experience realizing her sister might have lost some of her colleagues on that day.

“When I got to her house, I realized that I was right. She hadn’t just lost colleagues; she had lost friends,” she said.

The first lady continued, “As we learned more about that dark day, she felt pride for what happened here as well — pride that it was fellow flight attendants and passengers of United Flight 93 who fought back, who helped stop the plane from taking an untold number of lives in our nation’s capital.”
