Actor John Schneider has written a film about American values and opened up about why he believes Hollywood would not produce it.
The “Dukes of Hazzard” star spoke with Newsmax about his film titled, “To Die For.”
When asked whether it was fair to assume Hollywood would not touch the pro-American film, Schneider replied, “Oh my gosh. They wouldn’t spend any money to develop it. They certainly wouldn’t film it, they wouldn’t distribute it, but my wife and I are fiercely and unapologetically independent.”
He continued, “So, we make our own content. We also distribute our own content.”
According to Schneider, they are “all in.”
He added, “If this movie doesn’t work, we lose everything, but we’ve always been there. You know, I believe, if you’re not all in, you’re out.”

On what inspired him to make this film, Schneider explained, “I read a story about a year ago about a gentleman who defied a restraining order that said he couldn’t drive within 300 yards of a local high school with the American flag on the back of his truck, but he did it anyway, and he went to jail.”
Additionally, Schneider argued that “people are afraid to go [against society woke nonsense]. I don’t understand that. I don’t understand why conservatives are timid when it comes to this. My belief is that you can only be pushed so far, and they have pushed us so far that we have got to do something.”
The movie will be available to stream on Thursday.
The film’s website has issued a warning saying it is “intensely patriotic. If patriotism and love of country offend you in any way… watch this film… then move somewhere else.”
Earlier this week, Schneider tweeted a sneak peek of his film.
