A film critic’s accusation against “Avatar: The Way of Water” did not sit well with critics on Twitter.

The Twitter account Clown World shared a screenshot of film critic Kathia Woods’ take on the film.

“At some point we gotta talk about the cultural appropriation of Avatar and white actors are cos playing as poc. It’s just a mess and so not necessary and no amount of visual effects/CGI is gonna erase that. Bad Lace fronts/Dry synthetic braids. Jesus fix it,” Woods tweeted.

One user reacted to the tweet, saying, “At some point we gotta talk about how wokeness and people like Kathia Woods are ruining the entertainment industry with takes like this. People so bitter they can’t enjoy a fantasy film and it’s message. Americans and their rabid race politics infecting the western world.”

Another tweet noted Woods “turned off the comments.”

It continues, “OOP. The Dundee Award for ‘Bad Take of the Day’ goes to [Kathia Woods].”

Woods later responded to the backlash, writing, “Apparently I made some people on the right mad with my Avatar tweet to the point someone email me. Thank you.”

Axios reported on Tuesday Disney shares have decreased by close to 5% as a result of a disappointing debut for the film.

“Cameron’s films have always been marathon runners, not sprinters, so it’s the final gross that will be key,” Comscore’s senior media analyst Paul Dergarabedian, previously told the outlet.

The performance at the box office will determine whether the franchise will get more than a second movie, as Axios reported.
