UPDATE [02/01/23, 1:58 p.m. EST]:
CNN reported Bob Bauer, Biden’s attorney, said, “The DOJ’s planned search of the President’s Rehoboth residences, conducted in coordination and cooperation with the President’s attorneys, has concluded. The search was conducted from 8:30 AM to noon.” Bauer added, “No documents with classified markings were found.”
Another property of President Joe Biden is added to the list of locations searched for classified documents.
NBC News reported Wednesday that FBI investigators were searching his beach home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. It cited three sources who said a search warrant was not used and it was consensual.
The network’s Kristen Welker reported the search was ongoing as of Wednesday morning.
“This comes, of course, after there have been a discovery of a number of batches of documents at his think tank here in Washington, and also at his home in Wilmington, Delaware,” she added.

The network explained it was unclear if investigators were “searching for something they know about or if it’s a broad search for more classified documents.”
In a statement, Biden’s personal lawyer, Bob Bauer, said, “Under DOJ’s standard procedures, in the interests of operational security and integrity, it sought to do this work without advance public notice, and we agreed to cooperate.”
“The search today is a further step in a thorough and timely DOJ process we will continue to fully support and facilitate. We will have further information at the conclusion of today’s search,” he added.
The search comes nearly three months after documents with classified markings were discovered in an office at the Penn Biden Center in Washington, D.C.
Several more documents from Biden’s time as vice president and senator were later discovered in his Wilmington, Delaware, residence.
Wednesday’s news comes after CBS News reported FBI investigators searched the Penn Biden Center.
The FBI also searched his Wilmington residence last month.
Based on reports and information disclosed by Biden’s representatives, investigators did not obtain a warrant to conduct their searches.
A special counsel has been appointed to examine the president’s handling of classified documents.
Biden’s team has vowed to cooperate with the investigation.
