Former President Donald Trump paused stumping Monday to raise more than $1 million for the victims of Hurricane Helene.

Trump’s campaign launched a GoFundMe page after he saw firsthand the damage done in Georgia, per Fox News.

“With so many across the Southeastern U.S. facing challenges after the storm, President Trump is on the ground in communities to see the aftermath firsthand,” the GoFundMe page states. “All donations will be directed to help those most affected by Hurricane Helene. Any level of generosity will go a long way for your fellow Americans who are suffering.”

Trump visited to Valdosta, Georgia, Monday and criticized how the federal government has responded.

“Our hearts are with you and we are going to be with you as long as you need it,” Trump said.

“It’s called an hour of need,” Trump said, per USA Today. “You’re in our prayers. We have to all get together and get this solved.”

President Joe Biden shot back at Trump for “lying” about federal contacts with Georgia officials, Fox News reported.

“I don’t know why he does this,” Biden said. “I don’t care about what he says about me, but I care what he what he communicates to people that are in need. He implies that we’re not doing everything possible. We are. We are.”

Biden said he plans to visit Asheville, North Carolina, to review the damage.

More than 100 people have died as of Monday night from Hurricane Helene.
