Aaron Carter’s mother thinks her son should have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

To that end, Jane Carter Schneck has started a GoFundMe campaign to raise money.

“The funds will cover the creation, installation, and long-term maintenance of the star,” the GoFundMe page statement read. “We are coming together as fans, friends, and supporters to honor Aaron Carter’s legacy.”

The page continues, “Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer. If you’re unable to give, sharing this campaign means just as much. Let’s come together to celebrate Aaron’s life, his music, and the lasting mark he left on so many hearts.”

Organizers provided an update to ensure prospective donors where the money will go.

“We hear the concerns and want to be completely transparent with everyone supporting Aaron’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star,” the update read.

“All funds raised are being placed in a separate, dedicated bank account used solely for this purpose. Every dollar will go directly toward the official Walk of Fame fee and related costs, nothing else,” it continued.

The singer died in November 2022 after accidentally drowning in his bathtub due to sedatives and gas inhalation.

He was 34.

Prior to his death, Carter had struggled with the use of substances. He toldThe Associated Press in 2019 he used inhalants.

For a celebrity to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, that person must be nominated. If selected, a fee of $85,000 is expected to be paid. That is the goal of the GoFundMe campaign.

As of publication, $879 has been raised.

Carter rose to fame in 1997 with his self-titled debut album. That was followed by “Aaron’s Party (Come Get It),” “Oh Aaron”and “Another Earthquake!”
