Progressive International, a far-left activist organization, is preparing for an eight-day protest starting in Egypt on June 15, where they will attempt to “break the Israeli blockade” of the Gaza Strip.

In its announcement of the event, the group called for an “immediate end to the genocide in Gaza, a total embargo on Israel, and total boycott from the … network of Israeli violence, occupation, and apartheid.” Participants in the March will gather in Cairo, Egypt, and journey to Rafah across the border in the Gaza Strip, despite a strategic Israeli blockade.

Progressive International claimed in its announcement that the global response to Israel’s blockade of Gaza has not been strong enough. The organization said its march will help shift government perspectives on the conflict “from mere condemnations of Israel’s brutality to the implementation of policies that respond forcefully to their violations of international humanitarian law.”

The organization also called for the application of “boycott, divestment, and sanction” (BDS) measures against Israel. The BDS movement aims to limit aid and allies for Israel at an international level.

The “March to Gaza” protest follows an operation by left-wing climate activist Greta Thunberg against Israel’s blockade. Thunberg was joined on the Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC) vessel “Madleen” by Game of Thrones actor Liam Cunningham and other activists and celebrities in sailing from Sicily to bring humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Progressive International’s march also closely follows a rise in antisemitic attacks across the U.S. in the last few weeks including an illegal alien wielding a flame-thrower against participants in a peaceful pro-Israel demonstration in Colorado and the murder of two Israeli Embassy staff members outside the Capital Jewish Museum.

Major news networks have even had to backpedal their positions on the Gaza War in recent days, with the Washington Post forced to correct a piece claiming that Israeli troops were responsible for the deaths of 30 Gaza’s outside a U.S. aid site.

The ongoing war began with a surprise attack from Hamas in the Gaza Strip against Southern Israel on a Jewish holiday in October 2023.

March to Gaza describes itself as a “civic, apolitical, and independent movement” representing “the people, in all their diversity and humanism.” American groups involved in the event include Taxpayers Against Genocide, Missourians for Justice in Palestine (MJP), and Teachers against genocide.
