Oh, it always starts with a button, doesn’t it?
Just a little trinket at the county fair, handed out between funnel cakes and lemonade. Only this one didn’t say “Vote Blue” or “Protect Democracy.” No, this one asked — not so subtly — whether President Donald Trump is dead yet.
Let that marinate for a second.
This actually happened. In Ashland County, Ohio, at a family-friendly fair where parents were probably walking around with their kids and grandmas were enjoying corn dogs, the local Democratic Party thought it was clever — maybe even righteous — to hand out buttons with the words “Is he dead yet?” in reference to the current, sitting President of the United States. And the kicker? They didn’t stop there. They also included coded numbers (“86-47,” get it?) and even slapped “felon” on a red hat. Because nothing says “unity” quite like fantasizing about a political opponent’s death.
The booth was eventually kicked out. Not immediately, mind you — only after repeated warnings to remove the buttons. That’s right. Not “oops, we didn’t notice these were over the line.” Nope. They kept handing them out until law enforcement physically removed them. And now the sheriff is weighing criminal charges. As in, yes, someone finally said, “Hey, maybe this kind of political messaging flirts with being a literal threat.”
Now, if the story ended there, it would already be jaw-dropping. But wait — it gets better. Because, in a truly impressive act of historical revisionism, the Ashland County Democratic Party decided they were the victims. That’s right. The same folks who were passing out buttons asking if the president had died yet now claim they were “silenced,” “targeted,” and censored by — you guessed it — big, bad Republicans.
Let’s break this down: The local fair board said, “Hey, don’t promote political violence,” and law enforcement backed them up. The Dems? “Help! We’re being oppressed!”
Their official statement — which name-drops Nixon and McCarthy like they’re writing a college term paper for extra drama — says that even during those “shameful chapters,” government officials didn’t routinely silence local party chairs at community events. Think about that. They’re comparing being kicked out of a fair for inciting violence to McCarthyism. That’s some Olympic-level mental gymnastics right there.
BREAKING: The Democrat Party Booth at the Ashland County, Ohio Fair was just KICKED OUT after displaying buttons with “8647” and “is he dead yet” in reference to kiIIing Trump.
Democrats just can’t help themselves. They constantly promote violence.

But here’s where it gets darker — and yes, more uncomfortable.
In the aftermath of the assassination of Charlie Kirk — a conservative activist, a civilian, and an American citizen — a poll found that 24% of Democrats said the country is “better off” now that he’s dead. That’s not a fringe number. That’s nearly a quarter of an entire party shrugging off political murder like it’s a traffic update.
And it doesn’t stop with Kirk. Earlier polls showed that nearly half of left-leaning respondents believed the idea of murdering Elon Musk or Donald Trump was somewhat justified. You read that correctly: justified. Not “extreme.” Not “horrific.” Just… “justified.”
So when Democrats at a county fair hand out death-wish buttons and then clutch their pearls about “censorship,” maybe — just maybe — we should pause and realize that this isn’t about free speech. It’s about a political movement that’s increasingly comfortable dipping its toes into dehumanization, excuse-making, and outright dangerous rhetoric, all while accusing everyone else of being the threat.
The Ashland County Fair no longer welcomes the Ashland Democratic Party after the group displayed buttons wishing for the death of the president. Because what used to be unthinkable — fantasizing about killing political opponents — is now merchandise.
So, no. The story doesn’t end with a scolding or a slap on the wrist. It’s still unfolding. A sheriff is investigating, the Secret Service has been looped in, and the American public is watching as yet another mask slips.
And you have to ask: If this is what they’re comfortable doing in broad daylight at a fair… what exactly are they really planning behind closed doors?
