It it were up to President Donald Trump, Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker (D) and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson (D) would be in jail.

Trump posted his sentiment on social media Wednesday morning, The Hillreported.

“Chicago Mayor should be in jail for failing to protect [U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement] Officers!” Trump posted, referring to Johnson. “Governor Pritzker also!”

Trump’s post comes as the two Democratic leaders have stated they are against the Trump administration’s crime crackdown and immigration enforcement raids on Chicago.

On Monday, the state of Illinois and the city of Chicago on sued to block Trump’s deployment of National Guard members to Chicago.

The Department of War federalized up to 300 members of the Illinois National Guard over the weekend.

The president also ordered 400 federalized Texas National Guard members to be sent to Chicago, Portland, Ore., and other locations “where needed,” according to a memorandum filed Sunday in Oregon’s lawsuit fighting the deployment efforts in the state.

Early last month, the Department of Homeland Security launched “Operation Midway Blitz” created to crackdown on illegal immigrants in Chicago.

From that moment on, clashes between protesters, ICE officials and journalists have taken place.

DHS asked for assistance in protecting ICE facilities in Illinois as the clashes continued.

Trump has labeled Pritzker and Johnson incompetent in recent weeks.

Some are concerned Trump may try to jail his adversaries.
