Princeton University was hit with a cyberattack on Nov. 10 that compromised “information about alumni, donors, some faculty, students, parents, and other members of the University community.”

While the data accessed “generally” did not contain individuals’ Social Security numbers or financial information, the hacker likely accessed names, email addresses, phone numbers, personal addresses, and donation information, according to a community message sent by the university days after the attack. Princeton said the attack was perpetrated “by outside actors” and was active for less than 24 hours.

“At this point, we don’t know what information in the database was viewed or accessed,” the message said. “We will be in touch when we know more.”

Princeton did not respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

The hack occurred after a university employee fell for a phone phishing attempt. The university said it is working with law enforcement but has “no information to share,” including any details about a suspect.

An email system at the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) was hacked just weeks prior, with the hijackers using the system to send a mass email calling the school “a dogshit elitist institution full of woke retards” and accusing it of breaking the law on discriminatory hiring and admissions and violating privacy protections. Some reports suggest as many as 1.2 million individuals’ data has been breached, though the university has denied this.

Sensitive information from over 870,000 people was also compromised at Columbia University in June. The leaked information included health records, applicant and student data such as test scores and grades, personal contact information and bank account numbers.
