One of President Donald Trump’s final tasks of 2025 was to rant about actor George Clooney on Truth Social.
Trump called out Clooney’s support of the Democratic Party and labeled the Oscar winner “average guy” all the while celebrating Clooney’s recently granted French citizenship, per Mediaite.
“Good News! George and Amal Clooney, two of the worst political prognosticators of all time, have officially become citizens of France which is, sadly, in the midst of a major crime problem because of their absolutely horrendous handling of immigration, much like we had under Sleepy Joe Biden,” Trump posted.
Trump also called out Clooney for his comments about former President Joe Biden’s mental acuity.
Trump mentioned California Governor Gavin Newsom’s possible run for president in 2028, stating Newsom would “lead the Democrats to their future defeat.”
“Remember when Clooney, after the now infamous debate, dumped Joe during a fundraiser, only to go onto the side of another stellar candidate, Jamala(K!), who is now fighting it out with the worst governor in the Country, including Tim Waltz, Gavin Newscum, for who is going to lead the Democrats to their future defeat,” Trump wrote.
Trump then called out Clooney for being “an average guy” and not a star.
“He wasn’t a movie star at all, he was just an average guy who complained, constantly, about common sense in politics,” Trump posted.
Trump’s post comes on the heels of Clooney’s criticism of CBS News editor-in-chief Bari Weiss.
Clooney told “Variety” Tuesday “Bari Weiss is dismantling CBS News as we speak.” He also noted networks such as CBS and ABC settled defamation lawsuits Trump initiated.
“If CBS and ABC had challenged those lawsuits and said, ‘Go, f*ck yourself,’ we wouldn’t be where we are in the country. That’s simply the truth,” he said.
Weiss responded to Clooney in an email that included an “open invitation” to her newsroom.
“Bonjour, Mr. Clooney! Big fan of your work. It sounds like you’d like to learn more about ours,” Weiss wrote. “This is an open invitation to visit the CBS Broadcast Center, where I’m spending the holidays working to relaunch the Evening News with my colleagues. Tune in January 5.”
