Elizabeth Holmes, the discredited Theranos CEO, is asking President Donald Trump for an early release from prison.

Holmes was convicted of defrauding investors, according to a request filed last year with the Department of Justice, CNN reported.

Holmes was convicted in 2022 and is currently in a federal prison in Texas to serve her 11-year sentence. Her time in prison is set to end in December 2031.

It granted, Holmes’ request to commute her sentence could have her be released nearly six years early.

Last year, a U.S. appeals court upheld Holmes’ conviction as well as the conviction of Theranos President Ramesh “Sunny” Balwani.

The court also upheld the $452 million in restitution Holmes and Balwani were ordered to pay their victims.

Theranos, once valued at $9 billion, was started by Holmes when she was in college.

Theranos claimed its technology could accurately and efficiently test for conditions like cancer and diabetes with a few drops of blood. It had $945 million in financing, a board of well-known political figures and prominent retail partners.

A Wall Street Journal investigation called into question the company’s testing methods as well as the capabilities of its technology.

In 2018, Holmes and Balwani were charged with a dozen counts of wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Both pleaded not guilty.

Holmes, 41, is currently at Federal Prison Camp Bryan.

The White House does not comment on clemency requests, a White House official said.

“We are continuing to fight for my innocence and we know the truth can not be repressed for ever (sic),” Holmes posted on X Wednesday evening.

We are continuing to fight for my innocence and we know the truth can not be repressed for ever. This is not over. The fight against weaponization of our justice system is just beginning.  Follow me for updates. Going private again in 12 hours. https://t.co/tXDyLb9xvs
