The arrests spanned multiple states and involved individuals from Mexico, Laos, China, and Jamaica. Each had prior convictions tied to offenses against minors or violent sexual crimes.
“Yesterday, ICE arrested MULTIPLE pedophiles from across the country,” Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said. “These monsters preyed on and victimized children. Under President Trump and Secretary Mullin, ICE is removing child predators from our country.”

Among those arrested was Jose Alfredo Farias-Perez, a Mexican national convicted of aggravated sexual assault of a child in Dallas County, Texas. Authorities also took into custody Liew Liem Saecho, a Laotian national found guilty of continuous sexual abuse of a child in Redding, California.
Another arrest included Erick Jovanini Gonzalez-Vargas, a Mexican national convicted of sexual abuse of a child in Salt Lake City, Utah.
ICE agents also detained Li Chen, a Chinese national convicted of gang assault in Brooklyn, New York, and Hamlin Antonio Maurice Reid, a Jamaican national found guilty of incest in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
Officials emphasized that the individuals had already been convicted in U.S. courts prior to their arrests by immigration authorities.

“These monsters preyed on and victimized children,” Bis reiterated, pointing to the agency’s focus on identifying and removing offenders with serious criminal histories.
The announcement comes as DHS reports a broader enforcement effort. Earlier this month, the agency stated that more than 700,000 criminal illegal aliens have been removed from the United States over the past year.
