Amravati spiritual leader booked for rape, POCSO; abscondingPolitics — Jul 21, 2026A spiritual leader of Anand Math in Amravati, Dattagiri Guru Jairamji Maharaj, has been booked under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and POCSO Act for allegedly raping and sexually exploiting a woman who was a minor when the abuse began in 2016, with police launching a search for him as he remains absconding. The case is being investigated by Chandur Railway police, with the survivor’s account detailing repeated offenses over the years and further probe underway.
