Washington father survives brutal Alaska bear attack, films goodbye message

A Washington state hunter, 27-year-old Jadon Nicoara, was mauled by a brown bear during a caribou hunt on Alaska’s North Slope; his cousin fired at the bear and Nicoara eventually shot it, saving his life. He filmed a goodbye message for his wife as the attack unfolded, was airlifted to Anchorage and then Seattle for extensive reconstructive treatment, and is now recovering at home.
