x/kpmg-australia
— Aug 24, 2026
KPMG Australia will cut 27 partners and about 360 staff (roughly 5% of the workforce) and overhaul its structure as consulting revenue declines and a whistleblower/data-misuse scandal weighs on contracts and future audits, with revenue falling to about $2.26 billion from $2.28 billion. The moves, part of a broader restructuring to align with the global advisory model, follow heightened scrutiny and inquiries into the firm’s conduct and client data handling.

Salaries for permanent roles rose at their fastest pace since January, underscoring a broader sense of stabilization amid energy and borrowing headwinds and a cautiously improving outlook across the economy.
