American Airlines retires first class for new Flagship Suites on 777 jets x/american-airlines — Sep 3, 2026 American Airlines has rolled out its first retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER with the Flagship Suite, expanding premium seating to 144 seats and eliminating international first class to attract high-spending travelers, including 70 Flagship Suite seats, 44 Premium Economy, and 30 Main Cabin Extra.
