Boa Constrictor Wins Met Opera Snake Auditions — 19hSnakes auditioned at the Metropolitan Opera for Così fan tutte; a boa constrictor named Princess won the role with understudy Nala, chosen by performer Zoe Ziegfeld who handles the snake on stage. The production is staged as a 1950s Coney Island carnival with animal talent expert Nancy Novograd supplying the snakes for the auditions.
