Baxter International has issued recalls for multiple intravenous solutions after inspectors found fiberglass and steel particulate contamination in Viaflex bags, affecting several lots (including Y495523, Y495523A, and Y4950663) distributed to hospitals and home-care patients nationwide. The FDA warns that particulate matter could cause life-threatening complications such as pulmonary embolism, organ damage, vein irritation, and severe reactions, and facilities should stop using the recalled products and return them.
