It appears former President Donald Trump was too swift in accepting an endorsement by singer Taylor Swift.
That’s because most of the photos Trump posted on Truth Social announcing Swift’s endorsement of Trump were generated by artificial intelligence, per the HuffPost.
Some of the screenshots Trump shared showed women wearing “Swifties for Trump” T-shirts.
One post on X, formerly Twitter, declared, “The Swifties For Trump movement is real!”
Trump shared a photo collage in which the post id clearly labelled “satire.”
Another fake picture shows Swift dressed as Uncle Sam with the text, “Taylor wants YOU to VOTE for Donald Trump.”
“I accept!” Trump wrote.
However, it is not clear if Trump was referring to photos of the AI-generated “Swifties” supporting him or the fake endorsement from the pop superstar.
Two of the photos in the post are legitimate. They show Jenna Piwowarczyk wearing a “Swifties for Trump” shirt at a Wisconsin campaign rally.
Piwowarczyk is a Trump supporter.
Swift has not endorsed a candidate in the 2024 race.
Swift criticized Trump took on social media regarding how he handled the Black Lives Matter protests in 2020.
“After stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism your entire presidency, you have the nerve to feign moral superiority before threatening violence? ‘When the looting starts the shooting starts’??? We will vote you out in November. @realdonaldtrump,” she wrote.
She also went after Trump for his “calculated dismantling” of the U.S. Postal Service.
“He is WELL AWARE that we do not want him as our president. He’s chosen to blatantly cheat and put millions of Americans’ lives at risk in an effort to hold on to power,” Swift wrote in August 2020.
