Twitter users questioned whether Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) auditioned for “American Idol” after a video of a woman that looked like her on the show went viral.
A user by the name of Far Left Kyle shared the video to the platform on Sunday.
The woman introduced herself as Stefanie Sugarman from California.
For her audition, she sang a version of H-Town’s “Knockin’ Da Boots.”
Judge Paula Abdul reacted to her version of the song, saying Sugarman is “very, very outgoing.”
She added, “I personally don’t feel that you’re the next American Idol.”
Judge Randy Jackson said Sugarman is “not a very good singer.”
Sugarman replied, “I think you’re lying through your teeth.”
After walking out and then walking back into the judge’s room to ask if she made the cut, the judges reminded her that she was not a good singer.

Users immediately began questioning whether the woman was actually Greene.
One user tweeted, “[Rep MTG] Dis you? I heard it may not be, but Steph’s sure got that [Margarine Tater Gargoyle] energy. Grossly unqualified for the job she’s seeking with an inability to believe the experts that say she’s rubbish.”

Representatives for Greene told the New York Post in a statement that she is not the woman in the video.
“It’s so blatantly obvious that this is another Blue Anon conspiracy theory,” they said.
Greene made headlines recently after a series of “swatting” incidents, as IJR reported.
Last month, police arrived at her house after a 911 call was placed at 2:53 a.m.
The call was reportedly about “a male possibly shooting his family members and then himself.”
The report stated that the suspect “came out as trans-gender and claimed they shot the family” living at the congresswoman’s address.
After meeting Greene at her front door, law enforcement “confirmed this was a second false report.”
