According to Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, the purpose behind President Donald Trump’s comments on voting twice is to undermine the upcoming presidential election.
During a press conference in Delaware, a reporter asked Biden what he makes of Trump encouraging voters to mail in their ballots and then to also show up at the polls in-person.
Biden let out a laugh and noted it is a felony in Delaware to vote twice.
“How many times does this president have to suggest things and say things where you all don’t just write, ‘He’s a fraud,'” Biden said.
He went on, saying, “He wanted a, ‘Maybe we should delay the election,’… ‘Write-in ballots are fraudulent,’ not a single bit of evidence. I think it’s all designed to create so much chaos that no matter what the outcome of the election is that it’s thrown up in the air.”

He accused the president of trying to undermine the “legitimacy of our Democratic process” and called it “dangerous.”
In an interview with WECT-TV in Wilmington, North Carolina, on Wednesday, Trump suggested residents of the state should vote twice, as IJR previously reported.
“Let them send it in and let them go vote,” Trump said.
He added, “And if the system is as good as they say it is then obviously they won’t be able to vote” in person at the polls.
Following his comments, Karen Brinson Bell, the executive director of the North Carolina State Board of Elections, released a statement reminding Americans it is a felony to vote twice, as IJR previously reported.
“Attempting to vote twice in an election or soliciting someone to do so also is a violation of North Carolina law,” she said.
White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany weighed in on Trump’s comments during an appearance on Fox News on Thursday.
She claimed he was not “suggesting anyone do anything unlawful.” Instead, he was telling Americans to “make sure your vote is tabulated and if it is not, then vote.”
