President Joe Biden does not seem too concerned about House Republicans’ impeachment inquiry.
As he was returning to the White House on Sunday, Biden was asked, “What is your response to Republicans opening an impeachment inquiry into you?”
He responded with a smile and offered just three words, saying, “Lots of luck.”

On Tuesday, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) announced he was directing House committees to launch an impeachment inquiry into the president.
In a brief statement, he said, “Through our investigations, we have found that President Biden did lie to the American people about his own knowledge of his family’s foreign business dealings.”
McCarthy proceeded to list a series of allegations against Biden and what he said was evidence to support them, then added, “These are allegations of abuse of power, obstruction, and corruption. And they warrant further investigation by the House of Representatives.”
In a post of X, formerly Twitter, White House spokesman for oversight and investigations Ian Sams ripped the impeachment inquiry, writing, “House Republicans have been investigating the President for 9 months, and they’ve turned up no evidence of wrongdoing. His own GOP members have said so.”
“[McCarthy] vowed to hold a vote to open impeachment, now he flip flopped because he doesn’t have support,” he continued, adding, “Extreme politics at its worst.”
Biden brushed off the impeachment inquiry during a fundraiser as he said, “The best I can tell is they want to impeach me because they want to shut down the government.”
“Look, I’ve got a job. I’ve got to deal with the issues that affect the American people every single, solitary day,” he added.
