President-elect Joe Biden is working on assembling his cabinet and will announce his first picks to lead cabinet agencies before Thanksgiving.

During an appearance on ABC’s “This Week,” Biden’s chief of staff, Ron Klain, was asked if the former vice president would announce who he had picked to serve as his attorney general, secretary of state, or Treasury secretary.

“What I can confirm is that you’re going to see the first of the president-elect’s cabinet appointments on Tuesday of this week,” Klain said, adding, “Meeting the pace, beating in fact, the pace that was set by the Obama-Biden transition. Beating the pace set by the Trump transition.”

He continued, “So you’re going to see the first cabinet picks this Tuesday. But, if you want to know what cabinet agencies they are, or who’s going to be in those cabinet agencies, you’ll have to wait for the president-elect to say that himself on Tuesday.”

Biden told reporters on Thursday that he had decided who he would appoint to lead the Department of the Treasury, as IJR reported.

During a press conference, he said, “You’ll soon hear my choice for Treasury. We’ve made that decision. And you’ll hear that either just before or just after Thanksgiving.”

“And you’ll find it is someone who I think will be accepted by all elements of the Democratic Party, from the progressive to the moderate coalitions,” he added.
