President Joe Biden took aim at former President Donald Trump for skipping his inauguration last year.
During an event on Wednesday, Biden blasted the tax cuts that were passed during Trump’s time in office.
“‘So outrageous, the $2 trillion tax cut the last guy—what was his name?” Biden said.
He added, “I forgot it. He never showed up for the inauguration.”

Trump lost his reelection bid to Biden and claimed that widespread fraud tilted the results in the Democrats’ favor.
However, several recounts and legal challenges failed to alter the outcome of the election or find evidence to support his claims.
On Jan. 8, 2021, Trump tweeted, “To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the Inauguration on January 20th.”
As NBC News notes, “There have been only a handful of times in American history that an outgoing president did not attend the inauguration of his successor. John Adams, John Quincy Adams and Andrew Johnson all skipped the event, while Richard Nixon departed the White House after his resignation and did not attend Gerald Ford’s swearing-in.”
On the morning of Jan. 20, Trump left the White House and delivered a farewell speech at Joint Base Andrews.
Former Vice President Mike Pence did attend the inauguration.
Last month, Biden was asked if he is concerned his foreign policy would be undone if Trump returned to the White House.
“The first G-7 meeting I attended, like the one I did today, was in Great Britain,” Biden began. “And I sat down, and I said, ‘America’s back.’ And one of my counterparts as head of state said, ‘For how long? For how long?’” he continued.
Finally, Biden said, “I don’t blame anyone. I don’t criticize anyone for asking that question. But the next election, I’d be very fortunate if I had that same man running against me.”
