President Joe Biden’s sister, Valerie Biden Owens, suggested Meghan Markle would make a “good potential candidate” for president.

During an interview with “Good Morning Britain” Tuesday, Biden Owens explained, “It’s wonderful to have women in politics.”

She added, “The more women we have, the better our democratic system will work, with a better point of view, a different point of view and we embrace all women.”

Biden Owens went on to welcome Markle to join the Democratic Party.

She was asked if Markle would make a “good potential candidate, one day maybe for president.”

Biden Owens responded, “Yes, perhaps. Of course she will.”

A close friend of Markle spoke with Vanity Fair about her political ambitions in September 2020.

“One of the reasons she was so keen not to give up her American citizenship was so she had the option to go into politics,” the close friend said.

They added, “I think if Meghan and Harry ever gave up their titles she would seriously consider running for president.”

Still, some working close with her say she has no plans for a career in politics.

“While there’s no denying she is interested and engaged in politics as a topic, she harbors no ambition to enter a career in politics herself,” one source told the magazine.

Markle’s biographer, Omid Scobie, previously claimed the royal is looking toward the White House, as Vanity Fair reported.

“She has her eyes set on the U.S. presidency. Meghan is the embodiment of the American dream. One day we may see Meghan become president,” Scobie said.

However, Andrew Morton, author of “Meghan: A Hollywood Princess,” does not believe she is fit for the role.

“I would state categorically that she has no chance of ever running for president. She would be eaten alive,” Morton said, according to the magazine.

He continued, “You need the skin of a rhino to run for office especially in America which is an utterly polarized nation. Look what happened to Hillary [Clinton], and she has lived and breathed high-octane politics since college. When Piers Morgan took over from chat show host Larry King and used his show as a platform to attack the gun lobby he was shot down by his domestic audience. Americans don’t want lectures from Brits—royal blood or not. Just as we don’t want lectures from well-meaning Americans.”
