Actress Jennifer Runyon, remembered for her appearances in several popular 1980s television shows and films, has died at the age of 65.

According to Fox News, Runyon passed away Friday after a six-month battle with cancer, her representative confirmed.

Her family shared the news in a statement posted on social media, describing the final moments of her life.

“This past Friday night our beloved Jennifer passed away, it was a long and arduous journey that ended with her surrounded by her family,” the statement read.

They also reflected on the personality and warmth that friends and loved ones associated with the actress.

“She will always be remembered for her love of life and her devotion to her family and friends.”

The family added another message honoring her memory.

“she’s looking down on all of us with her beautiful smile. Rest in peace our Jenn.”

Runyon built a career in film and television that included roles in the sitcom “Charles in Charge” and the blockbuster film “Ghostbusters.”

She first appeared on the big screen in the 1980 slasher film “To All a Goodnight,” marking the beginning of her acting career.

Around the same time, she also landed a supporting role on the soap opera “Another World.”

Runyon continued to take on film work during that period, including a role in the comedy “Up the Creek.”

One of her most recognizable television roles came when she portrayed Gwendolyn Pierce on the sitcom “Charles in Charge.”

News of her death prompted messages from friends and colleagues who remembered her both personally and professionally.

Actress Erin Murphy, known for playing Tabitha Stephens on the classic television series “Bewitched,” shared a tribute to Runyon on social media.

“So sad to share that my friend Jennifer Runyon Corman has passed away after a brief battle with cancer,” Murphy wrote.

She also recalled the immediate connection she felt with Runyon.

“Some people you just know you’ll be friends with before you even meet. She was a special lady. I’ll miss you Jenn. My thoughts are with your family and beautiful children.”

Runyon was born in Chicago and went on to establish a steady presence in television and film during the early years of her career.

She is survived by her husband, Todd Corman, as well as their two children, son Wyatt and daughter Bayley.

Her family and friends say she will be remembered for the energy and kindness she brought to both her work and the people around her.
