The moderators for the upcoming presidential debates have been revealed.

The Commission on Presidential Debates announced on Wednesday its selection of moderators for the 2020 general election presidential and vice presidential debates.

The first presidential debate will be moderated by Chris Wallace, host of “Fox News Sunday.”

The debate will be held on Sept. 29 at Case Western Reserve University and Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.

Senior Executive Producer and Political Editor for C-SPAN Steve Scully will moderate the second presidential debate on Oct. 15 at Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Miami, Florida.

The third presidential debate to be held on Oct. 22 at Belmont University in Nashville, Tenessee, will be moderated by NBC News White House Correspondent Kristen Welker.

Washington Bureau Chief of USA Today Susan Page will be moderating the vice presidential debate on Oct. 7 at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Co-chairs of the commission Frank J. Fahrenkopf, Jr., Dorothy S. Ridings, and Kenneth Wollack said, ‘”We are grateful to these experienced journalists, who will help ensure that the general election presidential debates continue to serve their unique educational purpose of helping the public learn about the candidates.”

They added, “Each individual brings great professionalism to moderating and understands that the purpose of the 2020 debate formats is to facilitate in-depth discussion of major topics.”

The commission denied a request made by President Donald Trump’s re-election campaign to hold a fourth and earlier debate before mail-in ballots are sent out in several states, as IJR previously reported.

Trump said he is going to call for a drug test for both himself and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden ahead of their first debate after Biden showed improvement in his debate against Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), as IJR previously reported.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said during her press briefing she does not believe “there should be any debates” between Biden and Trump.
