Country singer Craig Morgan will be serving his country once again amid his successful music career.

On Saturday, Morgan, 59, surprised the sold-out audience at the Grand Ole Opry by being sworn into the U.S. Army Reserve again on stage after previously serving 17 years in the Army Reserve and the Army, according to Fox News.

In a statement to Fox News, Morgan, who will be ranked Warrant Officer and Staff Sergeant during his reenlistment, said, “I’m excited to once again serve my country and be all I can be in hopes of encouraging others to be a part of something greater than ourselves.”

Although he loves “being an artist” the “God Must Really Love Me” singer admitted he considers “it a true privilege and honor to work with what I believe are the greatest of Americans, my fellow soldiers.”

“God Bless America. Go Army,” he added.

Despite his new role, Morgan will continue to release music and tour.

General Andrew Poppas, the officiate of the night, shared his thoughts on Morgan’s reenlistment.

“Every Soldier who enters the Army has the opportunity to become the best version of themselves, and Staff Sgt. Morgan is no exception. I look forward to seeing what he accomplishes and how he impacts other Soldiers around the Army,” he said in a statement to Fox News Digital.

In a 2022 interview with Taste of Country, Morgan revealed whether he suffered Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) as a result of his time in the Army.

“No, I never did. In my mindset, my headspace, everything that I ever did was justified,” he said.

Morgan continued, “No matter how — what some may consider — bad, difficult, whatever. Everything that I did was completely justified, and I still believe that to this day.”
