This year, the first lady unveiled the White House Christmas decorations with the theme “America the Beautiful,” as IJR previously reported.
Melania Trump said in a statement, “Over the past four years I have had the honor to travel to some of our nation’s most beautiful landmarks and meet some of the most compassionate and patriotic American citizens. From coast to coast, the bond that all American’s share is an appreciation for our traditions, values, and history, which were the inspiration behind the decorations this year.”
She added later in her statement, “Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year.”

“During each of my visits to Children’s National, I have felt the warmth that these brave children bring, seen the joy in their eyes and the smiles on their faces,” the first lady said in a statement on her visit, adding, “It always reminds me that the spirit of Christmas is truly alive in each and every one of these courageous children.”
