Former White House Communications Director Alyssa Farah shared how her criticism of former President Donald Trump has affected her personal life.
“I recently got married back in November, and this is such a tough topic, so keep in mind two things: Covid has made people shrink their friend groups, their family groups. People aren’t being around each other if they are not open to getting vaccinated,” Farah said during an appearance on “The View.”
She added, “Add to that, political polarization. In my situation, personally, I had to deal with two people very close to me, my father and step-mother, who didn’t want to attend my wedding.”
Joy Behar asked Farah why they did not want to attend.
Farah responded, “Political differences after I spoke out against President Trump.”
She continued, “The answer was simple. Like, I love them. They were welcome to be there on my end. But if they didn’t want to be there, why would I interrupt my special day by trying to have them there.”
Farah argued the “MAGA strength runs really far and deep.”

Last month, Farah joined other former Trump officials on a conference call to discuss efforts to combat his efforts to win in 2022 and 2024.
In December 2021, Farah resigned as White House communications director.
Farah told Politico she stepped down “because I saw where this was heading, and I wasn’t comfortable being a part of sharing this message to the public that the election results might go a different way. I didn’t see that to be where the facts lay.”
She added, “So to me, it was time.”
Trump blasted Farah in a statement in November after she claimed he admitted he lost the election.
“It’s amazing how these people leave with respect and adoration for me and others in the White House, but as soon as CNN or other cameras get shoved in their face, or the losers from the The View ask a question, or money gets thrown at them, or someone writes a fake book, inglorious lightweights like Farah change so quickly,” Trump said.
