Fox News’ Harris Faulkner said Monday on “Fox Business” that Democratic governors attempting to defy President-elect Donald Trump’s directives will risk never regaining voters as they continue to ignore the “people’s choice.”
Since Trump’s win on Election Day, Democratic governors of Massachusetts, California, and Illinois have already begun speaking out against the former president, claiming they’re prepared to fight back against his strict immigration agenda. On “Kudlow,” Fox Business host Larry Kudlow questioned Faulkner on the current pulse of voters, noting that he senses the country wants to see Trump succeed.
“Look, I don’t think that Democrats were wrong when they first tried to run Kamala Harris, and she had a decidedly very long honeymoon period, too. It just didn’t hang on when they first put her in over Joe Biden,” Faulkner said. “But they weren’t wrong that the country could use a little joy and uplift. Many, many people struggling just to get the groceries on the table and still being told that they’re imagining their journey. So they weren’t wrong about that.”
“They just couldn’t sustain it because the facts were against them. So right now, I think that there is a sort of collective, OK, we’ve decided as a nation who the next president’s going to be. We don’t have to wait in limbo unless you’re in, like, some state, Senate and House races, which they still haven’t called,” Faulkner said. “But you don’t have to worry about that with the president. So now the joy can begin of what’s next.”
Faulkner went on to state how Trump is being authentic to who he is, pointing out how fast he has been announcing his Cabinet picks.

“He’s also being true to who he is. It’s the authenticity along the way. Of course he’s going to go to the UFC championships at MSG. Of course he’s going to take that victory lap. There are going to be people there that might not have ever said they wanted to vote for him that did. Many of those people look like me. Many are Hispanic, Asian, as you mentioned,” Faulkner said.
“With putting the Cabinet together and hearing the push against him potentially on the Hill with lawmakers and then hearing these blue led state Democrat governors saying they’re going to defy the people’s choice and push against everything he does in their interest,” Faulkner added. “It’s rich. If they think they’re going to win back voters that way, they’re wrong. But the joy will reside on the right side of the aisle until the left decides to smile and move on.”
Less than 24 hours after Trump was declared the winner of the 2024 race, Democrats online began calling for resistance against the former president’s second term, with some outright calling to resist him and others, like Democratic New York Attorney General Letitia James, stating she would continue her legal case against Trump.
With Trump continuing to announce his next Cabinet appointees, Democrats have been vocal in their criticisms of some, including Fox News host Pete Hegseth, former Republican Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz, and former independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
