Sunny Hostin Insists There Is 'Nothing to Indicate' There's 'Anything Wrong' With Biden's Mental State

A co-host of “The View” is pushing back on questions about President Joe Biden’s health and ability to serve out a second term.

During a segment on Friday, the show’s co-hosts criticized Republican presidential hopeful Nikki Haley for raising questions about the president’s age.

Joy Behar asked, “Did she just say that Biden’s not going to survive a second term in office? Is she saying he’s going to be dead?”

Sunny Hostin responded, “I just think it’s terrible because what she wanted to do was really throw a dig at Kamala Harris, she wanted to throw a dig at another woman of color, she wanted to throw a dig at the Vice President of the United States.”

“And in doing so, she decided — somehow — that it was politically expedient to say that he would be dead in six years,” she continued, adding, “First of all, that is completely crass. It’s terrible for his family and for him to say something like that.”

She also argued the country “suffers from terrible ageism.”

“In other countries around the world, people revere their elders because of the wisdom that comes with the age,” Hostin continued.

She added as she pointed to her head, “And there’s nothing to indicate there’s anything wrong with Joe Biden up here. There’s nothing to indicate that.”

Do you think it was a crass comment?

During an interview on Fox News on Wednesday, Haley raised doubts about whether Biden would finish out a second term.

“I think that we can all be very clear and say with a matter of fact, that if you vote for Joe Biden, you really are counting on a President Harris,” she said.

Haley added, “Because the idea that he would make it until 86 years old is not something that I think is likely.”

During a press conference on Wednesday, the president addressed concerns about this age as he said, “I can’t even say — I guess how old I am, I can’t even say the number. It doesn’t register with me.”

“But the only thing I can say is that… people are going to see a race and they’re going to judge whether or not I have it or don’t have it. I respect them taking a hard look at it. I’d take a hard look at it as well,” he continued.

Finally, Biden insisted, “I took a hard look at it before I decided to run. And I feel good, I feel excited about the prospects. And I think we’re on the verge of really turning the corner in a way we haven’t in a long time.”
