Trump Knocks Barr After Receiving His Support — But Amends His Nickname

NEW YORK, NEW YORK - APRIL 25: Former U.S. President Donald Trump speaks to the media as he arrives for his criminal trial for allegedly covering up hush money payments at Manhattan Criminal Court on April 25, 2024 in New York City. Trump was charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records last year, which prosecutors say was an effort to hide a potential sex scandal, both before and after the 2016 presidential election. Former President Donald Trump is taking a shot at his former attorney general — despite receiving his support in the 2024 election.

In a post on Truth Social on Wednesday, Trump noted former Attorney General Bill Barr said he would support him.

“Wow! Former A.G. Bill Barr, who let a lot of great people down by not investigating Voter Fraud in our Country, has just Endorsed me for President despite the fact that I called him ‘Weak, Slow Moving, Lethargic, Gutless, and Lazy’ (New York Post!)” the former president wrote.

He added, “Based on the fact that I greatly appreciate his wholehearted Endorsement, I am removing the word ‘Lethargic’ from my statement. Thank you Bill. MAGA2024!”

Last week, Barr was asked if he would support Trump in 2024.

“I’ve said all along given two bad choices, I think it’s my duty to pick the person I think would do the least harm to the country,” the former attorney general responded.

He continued, “And in my mind, I will vote the Republican ticket. I will support the Republican ticket.”

“I think the real danger to the country — the real danger to democracy, as I say — is the progressive agenda,” Barr argued. “Trump may be playing Russian roulette, but a continuation of the Biden administration is national suicide in my opinion.”

Barr has been a critic of Trump since his time as attorney general. But he has also been critical of President Joe Biden.
