Three young men told NBC News correspondent Shaquille Brewster in Georgia that they intend to cast their ballots for former President Donald Trump.

Trump is currently leading Vice President Kamala Harris in Georgia by 0.5% and holds small leads in every other battleground state besides Wisconsin, according to the RealClearPolling averages. The young men told Brewster on Sunday ahead of an Atlanta Falcons football game that they plan to vote for Trump, while another asserted it seems like youth are “definitely” becoming increasingly conservative.

“I enjoyed his policies and he did treat us pretty well,” one of the men told Brewster as his rationale for backing Trump.

Three additional young men told Brewster that the economy is the most important issue to them.

“I’m working and I live alone, so that’s a big part for me,” one of them said.

CNN senior data reporter Harry Enten expressed surprise Monday at the extent to which “young black men” have increasingly been shifting away from the Democratic Party over multiple elections against Trump.

Trump is leading Harris by 17% with Hispanic men who are under 45, while the vice president is leading the former president with black men under 45 by 42%, according to the most recent New York Times/Siena College poll. Nearly 55% of voters believe Trump would handle the economy “better” than Harris, according to a September NYT/Siena poll.

Journalist Peter Hamby warned comedian Bill Maher in late August that a shift in support among young men toward Trump could sink Harris’ presidential bid.

“This is a real issue for Kamala Harris, though,” Hamby said. “Like, this could be fatal for her campaign … Democrats need to win 60% of the youth vote to win the White House.”

“Hillary came up short; Obama did it; Biden did it. Kamala Harris is right now at, like, 55% of the youth vote,” he added. “If she doesn’t get to 60, she could lose the election, and it’s because young men, Gen Z men, are breaking to Trump.”
