Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) is not apologizing for the way she responded to remarks delivered by President Joe Biden at the State of the Union.

Greene shared a video to her Twitter account of her speaking with CNN’s Manu Raju about the matter.

“People are pissed off and for the President of the United States to come into the people’s house and lie like he did about the economy, the border, and then act like he’s terrified of China and unwilling to talk about the fact that they spied on us last night?” Greene said.

She added, “Yeah, he got exactly what he deserved and I’m not sorry one bit.”

Greene said she did not believe House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) is upset with any of the Republican lawmakers for their actions during the speech.

“What am I going to do, stand up and give golf claps? No thank you. I don’t clap for liars,” Greene said.

Her remarks sparked some support from others on social media.

Another tweet thanked Greene for “taking a stand for the many Americans who don’t have a platform to speak the truth and be heard. I applaud you calling out Joe Biden on his false statements.”

After Biden made a claim about Republicans, Greene could be heard calling him a liar, IJR reported.

During an appearance on Fox News, McCarthy commented on the outcries from some lawmakers.

“The president was trying to goad the members and the members are passionate about it. But the one thing the president was saying is something that he knew was not true,” McCarthy said.

He suggested Republicans “need to be smart. Don’t take the bait.”

McCarthy explained, “Stay with the American public about what we want to do, curb this runaway spending that the president has been spending so much. The Democrats increased discretionary spending by 30%. There’s a lot of places that we could have savings to make government more accountable and actually put us on a path to balance.”
