Iran said that it will not negotiate over its nuclear program as Israeli forces continue to hammer the Islamic Republic, Reuters reported Friday.

Foreign ministers from around Europe will attempt to make inroads with Iran on Friday to push Tehran back into talks with the U.S., but Iran insisted ahead of the talks in Geneva, Switzerland, that they will not talk to the U.S. while under fire, according to Reuters. Israel began striking Iran last Thursday as the Islamic Republic refused to give up uranium enrichment, and Israeli forces established uncontested air superiority within days after eliminating key nuclear scientists and members of Iran’s military leadership.

President Donald Trump is currently deciding whether or not to go on offensive against Iran, with the White House saying Thursday that Trump would take at most two weeks to decide whether or not he will strike Iran.

Israel has so far dealt major damage to Iran’s defense capabilities, while also taking out many key leaders close to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Israel has also stated that assassinating the Ayatollah is one of their objectives in the war.

Israel would need American “bunker buster” bombs in order to successfully take out Iran’s most valuable enrichment site in Fordow, buried deep in the mountains outside Qom, Iran.

Iran is quickly burning through its offensive missile supply, while Israel is reportedly close to running out of defensive interceptor missiles to defend itself.

The White House has insisted that any deal over Iran’s nuclear program would still have to include no uranium enrichment whatsoever. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt indicated to reporters Thursday that the administration is seemingly stopping short of a total regime change war.

The U.S. has been in a defensive posture around Israel, helping the nation to shoot down incoming Iranian missiles. Currently, the USS  Carl Vinson is stationed in the Arabian sea to protect U.S. bases in the region while the USS Nimitz carrier strike group is en route to the region.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry did not respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.
