Rep. Karen Bass (D-Calif.) is predicting President Donald Trump’s upcoming visit to Kenosha, Wisconsin is only going to exacerbate rising tensions amid protests against racism and police brutality.
Host of CNN’s “State of the Union” Dana Bash played back the president’s remarks about the shooting of Jacob Blake.
He said he is looking into the shooting “very strongly” and it was “not a good sight.”
Bash noted he is traveling to Kenosha to meet with law enforcement and survey damage from recent violence.
She asked Bass if the effects of his visit will be good or bad.
“I think his visit has one purpose and one purpose only and that is to agitate things and to make things worse,” Bass said.

Bass argued it is “clear” his campaign is “all about” law and order and he will do everything to “disrupt” law and order.
Bash went on to ask Bass if Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden should also visit Kenosha.
Bass explained she believes Biden will be speaking out about the recent events but is not sure whether he will be visiting or not.
She stressed the events in Kenosha should not be used for political gain.
“One thing that I don’t think should happen is is that I don’t think using Kenosha in a way to campaign, which is what I believe the president is doing,” Bass said.
Bass reiterated Trump’s motivation to visit Kenosha is to campaign and “agitate” things.
Trump will visit Kenosha on Tuesday, as IJR previously reported.
Protests escalated in Kenosha after Jacob Blake, a Black man, was shot in the back by a white police officer.
According to an official, Blake is paralyzed from the waist down and remains in hospital.
Following the shooting of Blake, a gunman opened fire on protesters killing two and injuring a third.
